Reference

The stat formula, exactly

HP    = floor((2·Base + IV + floor(EV/4)) · Level/100) + Level + 10
Other = floor((floor((2·Base + IV + floor(EV/4)) · Level/100) + 5) · N)
N = 1.1 · nature boost | 0.9 · nature drop | 1 · neutral (HP always 1)

Sanity checks every competitive player knows: a base-100 stat with 31 IVs, no EVs and a neutral nature is 236 at level 100 and 120 at level 50; with 252 EVs and a boosting nature it reaches 328. IVXray applies the floors in the same order the games do, so projections match in-game stat screens exactly.

Limitations: applies to Gen 3–9 only (Gen 1–2 used a different formula and a separate Special stat); EV totals are capped at 510 with 252 per stat - the gauge turns red when a plan exceeds the cap. Source: Bulbapedia - Statistics (formula verified 2026-10-11).

Questions

Stat Calculator FAQ

How is a Pokémon's final stat calculated?
Every stat folds five inputs together: base stat (species), IV (0–31), EVs (0–252 each, divided by 4 in the formula), level, and the nature's ±10%. The exact formula is shown below the tool - IVXray runs it directly, including all rounding.
What EV spread should I use?
The classic skeleton is 252 in the main attacking stat, 252 in HP or Speed, and the last 4 anywhere (510 total is the cap). Competitive sets usually run 252/252/4 - the "Max EVs" button fills that skeleton for you.
Why do 4 EVs sometimes add nothing?
EVs count in groups of four - floor(EV/4) - so at level 100 the leftover 4 points still add +1 (4/4 = 1). At lower levels even 8 EVs can round away to nothing. That's the game rounding, not a bug.
What does nature do to stats?
One nature raises a stat by 10% and lowers another by 10% (five natures do nothing). HP is never affected. The chips under the nature selector show exactly which stats move for your selection.
What will my Pokémon become at level 100?
The second panel recomputes your exact IV/EV/nature spread at level 100 - the numbers a fully-trained competitive build reaches. IVs never change as a Pokémon levels; only EVs and level do.
